Curriculum and Content
Bible (A Beka): Bible is one of our core subjects and is taught daily. The Bible curriculum offers colorful visuals and lessons from the Old and New Testament.Students are also encouraged to apply the moral lessons of these stories to their lives. Each month we highlight a special character trait, such as obedience, respect and responsibility.
Language Arts (A Beka): The language arts program offers a strong phonics base. The students become skilled readers as they learn the name and sounds for the short vowels, consonants, blends, long vowels, vowel rules and special sounds. The writing lessons are incorporated with the reading program, which further strengthens the student’s comprehension and reading ability.
Mathematics (A Beka): Kindergartners begin the year learning their shapes, patterns, position words, comparison and calendar parts. Later in the year the students will be introduced to the concepts of fractions, addition and subtraction. They learn to count and recognize numbers from 1 to 100, as well as counting by 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s.
Science (A Beka): The science curriculum builds upon the natural curiosity of young children as they explore the wonders and creativity found in God’s creation.
Social Studies (A Beka): The social studies curriculum seeks to build upon the foundation of family and community. Students are taught an understanding of God’s love for all people as they learn about various cultures and children around the world.
